Hello guys. Hope everyone would be doing well.
We Indians are very much used to wearing traditional saree’s. We all would be having some old
traditional saree’s which our grandmother's or great grandmothers would have
passed it to our moms and from our moms to us. These days old traditional saree’s are seen as unique
and statement pieces. But there are times when we are so over some saree’s
which we don't like to style anymore. Usually in Indian household we give such
old clothes to the bartanwalis and in exchange for utensils.
Here few ways you can reuse
your old saree’s and make some good statement pieces.
1. Make curtains.
If you have sheer saree’s lying around unused make long floor length curtains from them. These days’ two layered curtains are a big trend. So you can use two different colour saree’s and make nice sheer curtains from them for your bedroom or living room. These would add a nice personal touch to your house.

2. A cape dress.
These days a cape dress is a
total style statement. A long cape can be easily made with an old Saree. I have
used my mom's old bhandni saree and made a long cape out of it. (See the
picture for reference). Stitching a cape is very easy and one can easily make a
DIY at home too.
3. Make a Long Maxi dress.
If you have an old silk saree
lying around make a long floor touching dress out of it. Silk never goes out of
fashion. And style it with a nice trendy dupatta.
4. Door mat
Yes you read it right we can make a nice colorful
door mats from your old saree’s.
5. Potli or tote Bags.
Making a potli bag is very easy and you
can make the same from the left over cloth of the saree dress that you have
made.

ReplyDeleteCape dress is my favorite, I'm gonna try it too. I've kept mom's classic sarees for stitching dresses but never get chance. This time I'm gonna get them stitched for sure 😍http://vrag.in/tasha-girl-jams/
